Departmental Manager of Personal Injury

She graduated from Newcastle Polytechnic in 1993 having undertaken specialist law, medicine and ethics in her final year of her degree. She commenced employment with Stephensons in January 1994 and undertook her training with the firm from September 1994.

Kate joined the Clinical Negligence department in 1995 when she completed her training contract and qualified in the department. Her sub-specialisms is in the area of gynaecology and geriatrics. In 2002 she was appointed Head of the department.

However, after 10 years in the Clinical Negligence department, Kate has recently taken up the role as Head of Personal Injury. She currently holds a mixed caseload of predominantly personal injury cases, whilst continuing her interest in Clinical Negligence.

Kate is currently applying for a renewal of her Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel (now Solicitors Regulation Authority's Clinical Negligence Accreditation Scheme) application following admission in December 2000. She is also an LSC Appeal Committee Member for Merseyside Region and she is the relationship manager for our corporate memberships to Headway and SIA. She is also a member of APIL.

In her spare time (not that she gets much, being a full time working mum) Kate enjoys Amateur Dramatics, listening and playing music and spending quality time with the family.
