Position: PartnerNick Hodson was made a Partner in 2008 having initially joined Stephensons in 2003. He holds a number of key posts including being a Solicitor Representative on the Greater Manchester Family Justice Council, as well as chairing the Child Concern committee from 2005–2008, which he has been a member of since 2000.
He is also a member of the Association of Lawyers for Children and the Reunite panel. He deals with all issues relating to children and is highly experienced in terms of Care and Adoption cases. Nick was the lead solicitor on behalf of the children in the notable DNA case of: F (Children) (DNA Evidence) [2007] EWHC 3235 and he has co-authored an article in Family Law (published October 2008 entitled ‘Who’s the Daddy, Half Sister, Brother: The future of DNA Testing in Family Proceedings’.
Nick is the appointed solicitor representative on the Greater Manchester Family Justice Council.
During 2008, Nick provided training to Salford City Council’s Safeguarding Board on court craft skills as well as training students studying social working at Manchester Metropolitan University. Additionally, he has lectured at BPP Law School on public law care proceedings and he is a member of the Academic Advisory Board. Nick was appointed to the Children Panel (now Children Panel Accreditation Scheme) in 2001.
