Roger was born in Lancashire, educated in Oxford, trained in Chester and moved to Kendal in 1977 to join Temple Heelis as an Assistant Solicitor.

He became a Partner in 1979 and Senior Partner in 1989.

He is a Member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and on the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel. He has specialised in personal injury, clinical negligence, other forms of professional negligence such as claims involving surveyors, architects and solicitors, as well as disputes involving wills, commercial partnerships, contracts and property.

Roger is also an Accredited Mediator and appreciates the importance of resolving disputes quickly, particularly when litigation will be slow, expensive and uncertain.

His interests outside the office include golf (Captain of Windermere Golf Club in 2003), rugby and cricket, walking, garden design, wine, food and making furniture.
